Dr. Lorenzo Franchi received his dental education at the Dental School of the University of Florence, Italy. He completed his PhD in Preventive Orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Florence in 1997. In 2008 he specialized in Orthodontics at the University of Rome Sapienza. Dr. Franchi is presently Assistant Professor at the University of Florence, Italy, and “Thomas M. Graber Visiting Scholar”, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, U.S. He has published extensively in the international literature and he has lectured at international meetings and symposia. He has been Editor of Progress in Orthodontics from 2011 through 2102 and he is currently Associate Editor of the European Journal of Orthodontic and Progress in Orthodontics. His research interest and areas of expertise are early treatment, treatment timing, and dentofacial orthopedics.
